Harte Lodge recently donated £100 to Hartlepool Now and Then which is a charity based in Hartlepool The project is to be co-ordinated by Gary Green of the Nautical Archaeology Society (Reg. Charity No.264209) and they are looking for images and photos contained in family albums and other sources.
They have approached the Hartlepool Masons to increase their catchment area of memorabilia, and have requested photographs and memories of Hartlepool ? the earlier the better but also including contemporary material. All photographs will be scanned digitally and originals returned, with the images then being added to the new website www.hhtandn.org.
In addition, one of the aims of the project is to improve care in the community for old people and stimulate the memories of older people in particular those in care and residential homes. The project is therefore seeking additional funding to assist with the delivery of a Roadshow specifically for these disadvantaged local residents, and to create project Reminiscence Packs to go out to the Homes.
For example putting on a road show can involve costs of up to £370. They held the first Road show on August 31st, at the Central Library, Hartlepool and expect to hold future one Attached pictures are of the roadshow
