WM Duncan Maw Harte Lodge 4217 recently went on a well deserved holiday with his Wife Elizabeth and daughter Emily, they choose to Cruise on P & O Cruise ship Azura.
Duncan soon discovered that P & O are very supportive of Masonry and all ships facilitate informal Masonic meetings on cruises.
Duncan went along to the first meeting to find he was the only Durham Mason present but found 10 other like mined masons. At the first meeting 11 brethren attended but only Hartlepool Mason Duncan Maw was willing to step up and organize an event so he was elected as the one man organizing committee for a charity cocktail party for brethren, families and Senior staff of the Azura.
The Cocktail party was a success and profit from the event on board after costs was £325 and was agreed by all that this was to be donated to the the Masonic Samaritan Fund, Duncan was charged with this task on his return to dry land he duly obliged.
