Clearly a neutral venue is a must for the latest bout of friendly rivalry that has sprung up between Hartlepool's Harte Lodge No4217 and Darlington's St Oswald Lodge No4260.
Following on from their Darts and Dominoes challenges, firstly at Coxhoe in 2011 and then at Barnard Castle earlier this year, they've now moved again! This time the venue was Romanby Golf Club at Northallerton where a slightly more energetic form of challenge again raised funds to be passed on to St John's Primary School in Darlington where the children pack shoe boxes with goodies which are then sent as Christmas presents for front-line troops serving in Afghanistan.
On a very rainy day, 20 or so Masons representing both Lodges raised £270 making a total of £470 when added to the proceeds from the darts, dominoes (and pool) challenge.
What's next we ask? Watch this space!

The origins of Freemasonry in England date back as far as 1646 when the first documented evidence of a freemason was recorded.
Freemasonry is not a charity, but it is charitable, supporting its own members & their families in distressed circumstances & also non-Masonic charities & individuals such as hospices
