Hartlepool Masons Christmas Party

Freemasons enjoying their Christmas Party and still managing to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

The night started with our December business meeting where Bro Colin William Wilson was elected Master Elect for the ensuring year. Colin will be installed into the Chair of King Solomon on Monday 16th January 2012.

In the festive board The WM Duncan Maw paid tribute to WBro's Allan Jolly, Brain Allen & Derek Donkin for their continuing support to Harte Lodge through the year as Stewards at our festive boards and presented each of them a bottle of whiskey / rum . A presentation was made to Andrew Stephenson who had supported the Lodge in many ceremonies over the year. Further presentation were also made to WBro Les "Chopper " Catchpole for the support as DC over the year, to John Meggison his proposer into Harte Lodge and to WBro Paul Hopper for support given to the Lodge as VGLO.

Duncan made a further surprise presentation to the members of Harte Lodge and St Oswald's Lodge of White gloves with Lodge numbers stitched in.

The night moved to our annual Christmas raffle where this year we had over 60 prizes donated form Lodge Brethren and from many visitors. Bro's Joel Kerr and Richie Hughes were charged with selling raffle tickets and did a fantastic job raising £630. WBro John Thompson had also provided a Marks and Spencer hamper with over a £100 worth of products inside including two bottles of Whisky, Joel and Richie got to work again and sold £170 of raffle tickets for this alone, which was won by Bro Aaron Gilbraith from Sanctuary Lodge.

Along with the money collected within the lodge the night raised £855 which was an incredible effort all round. WBro Duncan Maw thank the Brethren for their tremendous support and reported that Charity was the real winner on the evening.
